Singer / Songwriter Alice Costelloe and I have worked together over the years to develop concepts for several releases, and together we have gradually realised a tailored style of visual storytelling.
Hand-made costumes, frame by frame animations and 'budget' lighting solutions all contribute to the results, doubling down on a 'Lo-Fi', DIY aesthetic that accentuates the roots of Costelloe's songwriting process.
Shooting predominantly on mini-DV tapes in a Panasonic camcorder from 2004, the grainy textures and dreamy colour palette have become mainstays in this ongoing project.
Each music video was accompanied by additional short-form content and still images to support the social media campaign surrounding the releases.
